Food processing and logistics system

We procure raw materials from fishery bases around the world to carry and process. About quality control of seafood

Temperature management is very important when processing marine products. At Yantai Foods, we strive to maintain quality through thorough temperature control from raw material delivery to product shipment. Products are tested for microorganisms in each production lot in the quality inspection room, and physicochemical inspection is performed as necessary to ensure safety before shipping.

Since 2012, we have also introduced external consultants and are working on improvement activities aimed at reducing quality complaints. In particular, for the “remaining bone” problem, which was often pointed out by customers, not only a significant reduction in the remaining bone rate but also the quality of the on-site workers due to steady activities such as enlightenment activities to workers and process improvements. Quang Hieu Foods Co., Ltd. located in Quang Nam City, Central Vietnam in September 2013 as a fish processing factory dedicated to Oka Foods. With an organizational structure based on “Growth of employees through environmental improvement activities”, we have achieved a stable supply of safe and high-quality products at a low cost.

We have introduced a freezer that can be controlled to -27°C, the only one in central Vietnam. In addition, we have established a more stable supply system with the latest sewage treatment facilities that are conscious of environmental management, in-house generators, processing water tanks and fire fighting, extinguishing facilities to ensure risk management.

Located in a freezing complex in Funabashi City, Chiba Province, which is a subsidiary of Oka Foods and has convenient access to Tokyo, it has excellent distribution, inventory, and information functions. From over 40 kinds of fish, we produce to order, fillet processing, seasoning processing, and powdering processing according to customer requirements. An online by-order production system has been introduced to achieve “small quantity, high variety, quick delivery”.

About quality control

The factory is located in the refrigerator on the second floor of Kyodo Fisheries Distribution Co., Ltd. in Funabashi, Chiba. Because it is in a refrigerator with no windows in the factory, there are few concerns about flying insects and it has the best conditions for maintaining quality, such as keeping the temperature constant by managing 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The floor in the factory is dry. It is a hygienic environment because it is difficult for bacteria to propagate and there is no water splash. In addition, we also conduct monitoring inspections for insect and moth prevention (once a month) by a third-party organization.
